Bows, Brownies, New Moon & Slumber Parties!!

Mmm mmm mmm...Cookie dough brownies...fantastic! (D, Ry & Jill-e just made some and we just got done stuffing our faces!)

Having a slumber party with my two favorite girls tonight! B & Jill-e, my 11 & 8 year old nieces. Not only are they a HUGE help watching/playing with my kiddos but they are also a big help with my bows! B and I just sat at the table and completed an order of 17 bows and one sunshine bow holder! (came out pretty darn cute if you ask me!) She helps me organize all the ribbon & embellishments that I need and it really does save me a lot of time! (had to take breaks here and there cracking up at J & R singing..."holdddd stillllllll, wiggle wiggle wiggle, wiggle wiggle wiggle...")

So a while back I asked them each to pick out 5 of their favorite ribbons and I set up 2 listings in my shop. "B's favorite set of bows" and "Jill-e's favorite set of bows". B's has sold twice and we're still waiting on Jill-e's first sale!! (feel free to make her day!) I was trying to explain to them what "blogging" was before I started this post and asked them if they wanted to write a little something tonight...they were all for it! So here it goes....

Presenting Miss "B":

"Hi my name is ''B'' and i am 11 years old i love yoga and love beading. My aunts bows rock they match with everything. My friends always ask were did u get those cute bows. There are so many different types for ribbon my fav is the bees. For my birthday my aunt made twilight bows for my TEAM EDWARD PARTY.team Edward rules"
- "B''

Presenting Jill-e : (hold on while I pry her away from her popcorn & New Moon)

"Hi my name is Jillian but people call me Jill-e.I am 8 years old . I love sports especially lax (it stands for lacrosse ). Actually I love my ants bows and how they match each and every one of my outfit . TEAM JACOB RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

How cute are they? B is already asking me to set up her own blog when I'm done. "It's like an online diary!" :)

Giveaway time...I am so excited to have 16 entries and hope I get a bunch more before next Thursday. Thanks to all of you who have entered and remember to spread the word...anyone can enter!! A BIG special thanks goes out to Erin at Jackaroo for helping me promote my giveaway on her blog & pages! THANKS ERIN! (btw, I have some of their burp cloths... absolutely adorable!! Love them!)

Oh and just an update on Ry...going to see an Allergist (hopefully this week) bc NOW it may not be a real peanut allergy! UGH! Lovin' this roller coaster my life is ;)

Welp, guess that's about it for tonight. Big thanks to my awesome nieces for their special guest appearance!

gnite :)

Good news...I guess??

Got the results back from Ry's blood work today...phew! I hate waiting games...especially since they told me I had to wait 2 weeks but thankfully the results came back in just a few days! Welp, he IS slightly allergic to peanuts...total bummer (btw, he's had peanuts a MILLION times and for over a year!) But he was tested for a ton of other things too which came back negative so that is good! Also, since it's so slight he will be tested again in a year with the hopes that it will go away! Fingers crossed!!! Time to buy one of those "please don't feed me" shirts :) Oh boy, just got sidetracked for a few minutes already searching Etsy for all the "nut allergy" items! My poor babe...at least he's such a trooper!

On a MUCH lighter note, went to my mom's today to hang out, make "to-do" lists and see all of the AWESOME fabric that just arrived!! We LOVE everything...something about staring at adorable, brand new, freshly cut fabric on the kitchen table makes me happy :) Can not WAIT to get our new items in my shop!! I KNOW I keep saying this, but it WILL be soon! (I'll give a little hint: making new BOY items too!!)

Going to attempt my first giveaway on here. Pretty much clueless but I might as well learn sometime! I'm trying to get to 300 fans on FB...can't believe that number...I have such GREAT fans for spreading the word! I'm going to try and let YOU pick what you win! We'll see how it goes, I'm excited though!

Ok, off to work on some orders. I have 2 bow holders to make so far this week!! (an "A" for Ana, and an "M" for Megan)

Let's go Yanks! :)

Walks to the park and Haz-Mat Trucks!

Ok...so took a walk to the park tonight with the whole fam, Melanie (our shih tzu) too! As we turn the corner we see some policemen, police cars, firemen, firetrucks and oh yes, the Haz-Mat truck. While this made Ry very happy (especially since his 3rd birthday party is "firetrucks"!)it made us a bit nervous! The park was fun, Em is out of control and does whatever her brother does. I busted my butt several times down the slide trying to keep up with her and D chuckled away while watching from the bench. On our way back there were even MORE trucks & men etc. We were stopped by a policeman who told us we couldn't walk the same way back. (our house is just straight down a few blocks) D asked him what was going on and his reply was,"someone called in about a hazardous material on the corner...bomb squad is on the way." Keep in mind that "corner" was the same corner I just walked past with my kiddos 30 mins prior! OH LOVELY! D's response to that was, "...by hazardous do you mean like a bomb or just something gross." Cracked me up. So our walk was a bit longer on the way back but I could definitely burn the extra calories after Cheeseburger in Paradise tonight! End of the story is: all the trucks are gone. We have no clue what happened or if Jack Bauer saved our day. Boring ending...but I think I want a boring ending to this story!

Emmy's Closet time! Just listed these new personalized bows that I think are OH SO CUTE! I can do any name up to 5 letters and if the name is longer than 5 letters I could always do initials or nicknames. They sell for $3.00 each in my shop.

Ok, since it just took me about 30 mins to figure out how to get that picture in my actual blog, I'm beat! Time to head up and watch a movie. (yes, wine too!)

Ups and Downs...well more downs...

THE DOWNS:
Well, today sucked. Plain and simple. As if, first thinking Ry could possibly have craniosyntosis when he was 3 months old (thankfully just had a nice, flat head!), then needing glasses when he was two, then needing to have surgery on both his eyes when he was 2 1/2, wasn't enough for ME to handle and HIM to go through, now he might have some sort of food allergy! UGH!! This kid is one hot mess! I mean seriously?? At this point BRING IT ON! (well, not really the food allergy) I know I can handle anything but when is enough enough? I realize every single day that being a mom means worrying every single day for the rest of my life. But, whatever, I"ll take it! Fingers crossed for some nice big NEGATIVES when we get this blood work back. Oh and on that note, bringing a hungry 3 yr old and 1 yr old to BOTH get blood drawn= NO FUN!

THE UPS:
Got to see my mom's "creations" today and they are awesome! Can't wait to get them in my shop! I think in the next few weeks a bunch of new stuff should be ready to go, just waiting on a few more shipments of supplies! Also got to see my kick ass niece, Jill-e, play her last home LAX game. She may be feet smaller and lots of pounds lighter than her opponents but she has no fear! Love her! Another positive was that my sweet Em girl is on day TWO of milk in her sippy cup...YAY EM! And last but not least, had a few sales today (one really nice BIG one!) so that always makes for a good day!

Alrighty, time for some SERIOUS vino (Rex Goliath Pinot Noir-try it, it ROCKS!) and TV time with the hubs. (Survivor and Greys) Oh and notice the cute little stuff I've been adding to my blog...I'm TRYING...I really am :)

Night, Night!

Day Two!

I'm sitting here watching Backyardigans with Ry and figured I'd attempt to mess around with this! I am having trouble making my blog "cute". I love what people do with theirs, the colors, pictures, fonts, etc. HELP!!

Anyway...I have some REALLY exciting new stuff coming to Emmy's Closet and I can't wait to get it all in my shop! I'm exciting to spend the day with my fam tomorrow in "the lawn" and can't wait to see what my "oh so talented" mom has been working on! I think we compliment each other pretty well! We bounce ideas off of each other, I make the bows an girly accessories and she does the sewing and crocheting, plus we help by doing each others dirty work! (ex: my mom sitting at my "used to be awesome poker table and is now my workshop table"and cutting 85- 4 " strips of ribbon!) She can pretty much figure anything out so that makes it easy when I throw some random idea at her and she has it made in an hour and is sending me pics to my email! I love those "pictures from carol" emails!!!

Welp, bedtime for Ry!

Stay tuned....

Here goes nothing!

Hey there! Ok so this is my first official BLOG post...YIKES! I'm going to be honest and admit that I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing!! :) I started off with MySpace years ago...loved it and said I would NEVER go to facebook. Needless to say, I no longer have a MySpace account and am obsessed with facebook! Ok, so then I opened my Etsy Shop which I was a nervous wreck about! Once again, LOVE it and am having an absolute blast! I knew all these awesome "crafters" were on twitter and had FB fan pages and blogs etc. etc. but I was never going to get "THAT" involved...right? Nope! I then started my facebook fan page and oh how much fun that has been! I've met sooo many amazing people, have had a TON of sales because of it and one of my most favorite parts of it all is being able to see "fan photos" of these adorable little girls wearing my bows!! Makes me smile :) So moving right along...I'm sure you can guess I now have twitter and am STILL meeting new and fabulous "crafters" and "etsians"! All of that brings me to right now...here I am writing a blog...seriously??!! I was ok with the facebook, etsy, twitter, fan page, etc. But said, "NO WAY" could I figure out this blog business! (right, Mom?) I'm sure this will take me a longggg time to figure out but I figure now is as good a time as ever to get started! As I was ordering Ryan's birthday invites from Heather at Chickabug she told me to "write about anything and everything-it's fun." So that's the advice I'm going to take! (thanks heather!)

Thanks for following me along this journey!! Here I go...about to hit...PUBLISH!! :) :)
